Vegan Craft Samples' Holiday 2010 Bag

The time is here: we are collecting samples for the Holiday 2010 Vegan Craft Sample bags! 100% of profits from each bag goes to an animal sanctuary voted for on the vegan samples blog.

Vegan Samples is back in full swing, with many goals for our future bags! Last year's holiday bag raised over $700 for Peaceful Prairie Sanctuary and we hope to beat that with this year's holiday bags! We are still accepting contributors and can accept samples as late as November 11th. Please sign up on the website.

Vegan craft samples has been mentioned in VegNews magazine, reviewed on numerous blogs including Sarah Kramer's (go vegan calendar, how it all vegan cookbook trio). In order to continue raising funds for animals, vegan craft samples really needs more contributors and people who have a love for both animals and handmade. This is also a great way to advertise your shop!

Happy Earth Day 2010, now I am a firm believer that doing things everyday for the earth is much better than just one day. But what better way to do a little something extra than on Earth Day!

Vegan Craft Samples Its All In The Bag Giveaway and Sales!

Ok, It's All In The Bag-Vegan Craft Samples the holiday edition have been selling like crazy, keeping me busy at every moment, now is the time to get yours if you havnt already. 100% profits from each bag will be given to Peaceful Prairie Sanctuary in the forms of animal sponsorship and donation!

Each regular sized handmade reusable bag includes 17-20 samples and the small bags include 8-10 samples.

Some of you may have already seen the little interview with me in Veg News most recent magazine, also mentioning Vegan Etsy Team and other animal related etsy folks! I was so stoked when they contacted me, thinking it was because they got the sample bag I had sent them in August....but it was a bit odd to me as I hadnt seen it on the This Just In Veg News Blog...well low and behold that is not how they found Vegan Samples, because 3 months after I sent the package a tattered box returned to me. Apparently the USPS wasnt smart enough to figure out that I printed the postage at home, and sent it back undelivered months later, yippee....But no worries I sent in a new one, a holiday one, which was featured here, and Starrlight Jewelry was the staff pick!

Now its back to the drawing board, with only a few left to sell...its time to start planning the post-holiday bags, due out January 1st 2009!! Any interested shops are asked to sign up on our website. We would love to add new shops to our group, and find new friends as well! We have created a Ning community for past and present contributors to our bags, where you can come check out everyones latest sales, post photos, chat, post in the forums etc.

Now comes the latest with our bags, we are looking for the perfect logo design for our new handpainted/screened bags we will be releasing as soon as we find the perfect logo. I want to keep the aspect of handmade bags without working myself to death, it is just too many hours of cutting fabric and sewing to make every single bag by hand. So we will now be using premade 100% cotton bags,and printing our new logo on them! Where do you come in?

So much to do, so little time! It's All In The Bag is ready for release!

Things around my neck of the woods have been CRAZY! From hiking, biking, swimming, and playing with the dogs to sewing to preparing for the release of our August It's All In The Bag!

What is
"It's All In The Bag"?

We take vegan handmade samples from people around the world, put them into handmade market totes and sell them on our website. This is a great way to promote your shop and help animals!

Wait, how does this help animals?

100% of profits from each bag are donated to Peaceful Prairie Animal Sanctuary, which is awesome because not only are you promoting your shop and exposing people around the world to your items, you are helping animals!

Our upcoming bag goes on sale August 16th, and its proving to be AMAZING! I was in awe with every package that I opened this round, every sample I pulled out of the packages I wanted one for myself!

How can I see who is in this round of bags?

Swing on over to our Current Contributors section of our website, and you can get a sneak preview of all the fabulous shops involved!

We have already started looking for people to be in our Holiday 2009 sample bag, which is going to be the biggest ever! We are aiming for 200 bags and have an anonymous donor willing to match whatever we raise for the animals! Pretty awesome, if you ask me!

How do I sign up to be in the Holiday bag?

Easy peasey, just go on over to our sign up page, right on our website!

When you sign up to be in the bags you will have your ad on our blog and website, along with a nice photo of your samples on our site to entice folks to check out your shop!

Not sure what to send? Not sure if you have any items small enough to use as samples?

Some people who have bigger items in their shops, that cant really scale them down send in business cards, with magnets or pins, and a coupon code. Everyone gets super creative with their packaging and draws attention without having to send a full sized quilt or something!

Promoting your craft for the holidays, worldwide!

It is time to start thinking about advertising your shop for the holidays, and what a better way to do it than "It's All In The Bag"

What is all in the bag, you might ask. Well we take craft samples from crafters around the world, put them in handmade market totes, and sell them online, worldwide! When you send in your crafts, they are seen by people from the United States to Israel and in between. What is different about these sample bags, other than the reusable market totes that they come in? 100% of profits from each bag go to an animal sanctuary which is voted for, right here in this very blog!

When you send in samples to be in our bags, your ad will appear on our blog and website, along with a photo of your samples on our website- for the entire process of that bag from the time people start signing up until the last bag is sold!

How well do the bags sell? We sold over half of our first round of bags in the first few hours, and it didnt take very long for the bags to sell out completely!

The holiday is special, first because its the holiday bag so people will be eagerly checking out all of the shops that send in samples, looking for holiday gifts. Secondly, we have an anonymous donor willing to match whatever we raise for the chosen holiday animal sanctuary!!! Which is very exciting and makes everything even more fun! We advertise on various websites, and I will be sending a couple of sample bags to different magazines, for reviews and possible press in print!

we took a trip to the farmers market

yummmm...Of course since today is Thursday, also know as Farmers Market Day, it rained and poured all morning. Atleast this week it let up enough that we could go to the market and there were still people braving the weather to sell their wares! I even took the time to walk around and check out all of the handmade items this week, which I never usually remember to do. I get so excited about all my new yummy organic veggies, that I totally forget about the lonely crafters on the other side of the big open park! The 2 organic stands are next to each other, and I usually buy from both! One of them is where I get my csa, and I pop in there to get more of certain things and veggies that didnt come in my box this week....So, what exactly did I get this week? ALL ORGANIC ALL DELICIOUS!!!

more snap peas, maybe this time jessi will get some since i cant eat lately (something is horribly wrong with my jaw!)

Still no tomatoes and no zucchini ready, I guess this cooky weather is really having an effect on the farms and blight is destroying our tomatoes! I am hoping things turn around soon, or we might not be canning for this winter..BUM BUM BUM

Peaceful Prairie will receive 100% of sales

Peaceful prairie has been voted for on our blog to receive 100% of profits from the vegan craft sample bags coming out in August!! We decided to donate 100% of profits instead of the original 10%.

We have also chosen our new name and the person who came up with that name will receive a free vegan craft sample bag!
